We’re looking for a skilled Spare Parts Engineer (Instrumentation) to join our team and manage critical components that keep our machinery performing at its best. If you thrive on precision, planning, and supporting maintenance with the right mechanical parts, this is the perfect role for you!
Role & Responsibilities
- Assign correct material descriptions, classifications, and coding structures following international standards.
- Develop and maintain a standardized material master database in ERP systems (SAP, Maximo)
- Eliminate duplicate entries and ensure accuracy in spare parts records.
- Coordinate with OEMs, suppliers, and maintenance teams to obtain correct part specifications, interchangeability details, and manufacturer information.
- Analyze maintenance requirements and historical consumption data to optimize spare parts inventory levels.
- Develop min-max stocking strategies based on criticality analysis, lead time assessments, and usage patterns.
- Identify obsolete and slow-moving inventory to improve stock efficiency and reduce costs.
- Work closely with reliability engineers to ensure availability of critical spare parts for rotating, static, and electrical equipment.
- Collaborate with procurement, warehouse, and maintenance teams to streamline spare parts supply chain operations.
- Support procurement by providing technical evaluation of spare parts and alternative sourcing options.
- Ensure compliance with company and industry standards in spare parts acquisition and inventory control.
- Implement best practices in warehouse management to reduce stockouts and excess inventory.
- Provide technical support to maintenance teams regarding spare parts selection, compatibility, and interchangeability.
- Assist in equipment Bill of Materials (BOM) development and updates.
- Review engineering drawings, vendor manuals, and specifications to validate spare parts requirements.
- Support shutdown and turnaround planning by ensuring timely availability of critical spares.
- Generate reports on spare parts consumption, stock levels, and procurement trends for management review.
- Develop KPIs to track spare parts efficiency, inventory turnover, and cost savings.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in materials cataloging, inventory optimization, and procurement processes.
- Expertise in spare parts cataloging, inventory optimization, and supply chain management.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP MM, Maximo, Oracle, or similar).
- Familiarity with international material classification standards (UNSPSC, ISO 8000, NATO Codification).
- Understanding of oil & gas equipment (rotating, static, electrical, instrumentation).
- Data analysis and reporting skills using Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Knowledge of reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) and spare parts criticality analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Instrumentation Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in spare parts cataloging and inventory management in the oil & gas industry.
- Experience working with maintenance and reliability teams in upstream, midstream, or downstream operations.
